| Applying
for a government position in Australia? Then Selection Criteria
is the mother of all your problems.
Your response to each Selection Criteria
is scored and those with the highest score are invited to attend
a panel interview normally comprising three members. Criteria
are usually weighted with the top two questions counting for
up to 55% or more of the score.
The questions will contain points that need
to be addressed which are not apparent in the question itself,
making it even more difficult for the poor applicant who is
not all that familiar with the system.
I have often wondered if this is a devious way
government workers have of keeping new comers out, however I
am sure the system is quite fair and equitable overall.
Resume NOW spends up to five hours with you
to maximise your score and accelerate your chances to succeed.
Increasing your confidence and preparing you for the interview.
When shopping around please do not listen to
anyone who tells you they can address your criteria in a couple
of hours with little input from yourself. The content must reflect
you and your experiences. FLUFF won't wear here as you will
be torn apart at the interview if you are lucky enough to get
one. I coach you through the whole process and prepare you for
the interview.
If you are really serious about filling the
vacancy, you owe it to yourself to be well prepared with a professionally
executed application addressing the Selection Criteria.
Interviews can be conducted in person, by email
or through the fax and phone.
Whatever way you choose I guarantee your criteria
will be completed to maximise your points and dramatically improve
your chances.
